On C-SPAN's "The Communicators" program, FCC Commissioner Robert McDowell discussed the issue of unlicensed use of TV whitespaces. McDowell, a Republican appointee on the Commission, expressed his longtime support of the preservation of unlicensed whitespaces. He cited innovation, consumer benefits, opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs, and market competitiveness as just some of the reasons that unlicensed spectrum should be preserved.

Public Knowledge Legal Director, Harold Feld, testified before the House Energy and Commerce Committee Subcommittee on Communications and Technology about the value of the White Spaces and the importance of unlicensed spectrum in fostering innovation. More
